The fashion industry is very selective when it first started on what they saw as Beauty, looking back at the 1920’s and 30’s you saw Mostly Caucasian Americans.
When times changed you began to see more of a Mix after segregation ended but at the same time there beauty and Products catered to a certain look.
- Long straight Hair
- Fair skinned
- Specific look
Time went on and times changed and then you started to see a Mix of colors and races
- Caucasians (Eastern Europen)
- Asian
- Brazian
- Black
Still catering to that look, even as Asian had to have certain facial appearance and View on Beauty.

- Cultural Fashion
I believe it was the 70’s 80’s and 90’s when black became part of American fashion and yet and still it was hand full of actual American that were popular.
- British Black (Naomi Campbell)
- Africa (Iman)
- American
- Beverly Johnson
- Tyra Banks
Beauty was took time to begin to give more respect to the African Americans and there beauty
Respecting what they stand for and representing them in their culture beauty shot, and images that capture the African culture in its purist form.
Showing off African Americans and African Models as a piece of art to be treasured and looked upon with Divinity.
The black culture has rising up in the industry and gained respect, mixed blacks or models from other countries are look upon as divine as well. Surprisingly enough aren’t shown respect in the industry in there own countries.
It’s only when cultures cross and time zones change is there real respect for the woman and fashion as a whole.

- Beauty… is it
stripping off the make up and showing what is underneath bare bold and
beautiful.
No, It’s more then that… it the recognition of who we are as African Americans and FINALLY after nearly a half a century of us making our mark in the fashion industry respecting us for who WE are.
How so…
When I was growing up Barbie was all the rage as the toy, and I had a tone of them well I had the white dolls and the black dolls with the Long straight black hair.
Fast forward to NOW, and the fact that being natural and the Natural Hair Movement being Natural has caught On finally, starting a sub culture just in blogs and vlogging… gaining momentum and Forcing the fashion and Beauty industry to Listen and take heed.
Now, you can see the shift… from natural Hair Products that are specifically formulated for Natural Hair, OUR hair.
To making dolls that actually have Natual hair. The joy that parents get NOW that they can take their kids to the same toy stores and get a Barbie that has THERE texture Hair. Kids no longer have to be ashamed to have that nappy kinky Hair.
It shows them self-esteem in who they are in the knowledge “MY BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL” and THAT is Beautiful.

My Favorite (Beauty Product)
Growing up believe it or not I had no big thing for the Beauty side of fashion and I mostly tried to stay away from it.
As I got older just like with any female I started to find a interest in it when I started dating (gotta look good for your man) so I started looking at Make up and Hair more specifically as well as accessories and I have compiled My top ones on my List of my Favs
